Reader's Workshop: We will learn about the "story elements" and how to retell/summarize a story using them.
Writer's Workshop: We will learn how to write persuasive pieces about the collections that we brought in from home.
Fundations: In units 4 and 5, students will learn how to "tap" and spell words with double ll ff ss endings as well as glued sounds.
Math: In unit 3, students will learn about frames and arrow patterns and using a number grid.
Science: We will learn about how meteorologists use their senses as well as specific tools (thermometer, rain gauges, wind flags, etc.) to study the weather.
Social Studies: In our second unit, we will explore and compare the different kinds of communities in which people live: city, town and farm. Also, focus on geography and map skills.
Health: We will learn peaceful problem-solving strategies that can help us when have a conflict.
